This summer I went to Galicia and
Asturias (Northern Spain) for six days with my family. It was not our first
time because we had already gone in summer last year and since then, we knew that
we would come al least once a year.
First of all, we spent the first
three days in Galicia where we stayed in a beautiful country house in Santiago
de Compostela. We visited Santiago, its wonderful cathedral and the historic old
centre of the city. Then, the second day we went to Ourense in order to see the
monastery of Oseira, an impressive romanesque building which was built over
eight hundred years ago and that had an important social and economical impact.
After the monastery we went to River Sil and sailed down the river while we were enjoying the beautiful landscape that
surrounds it. Eventually, the last day we went to O grove and we saw the
beautiful coast and how the seafood is treated.
Secondly, on the way to Asturias we stopped to see the Playa de las Catedrales, an amazing natural formation that can only be seen at certain times because the tide rises and does not allow to take a walk through it. Then, we arrived at Asturias and we stayed in a beautiful hotel on the coast. The two last days we traveled throughout the Asturian coast and we enjoyed beautiful landscapes such as Playa del Silencio or Cabo Vidio.
In conclusion, we had a blast enjoying what this beautiful land has to offer and we are looking forward to next summer to continue our particular adventure in the north.
